WE SPECIALIZE IN LSM
[Live Speech Mapping]
We take your basic hearing measurements, the Puretone thresholds and the Puretone Uncomfortable levels and transferring it to a system called MedRx we create a map of your comfortable listening levels referred to as your Dynamic Range of Listening. Next, we place a small listening tube in your ear canal at the ear drum and measure the natural resonance of your ear canal. Combining this collection of information we than introduce the sound of live speech through a microphone in real time and watch the response on a large computer screen together. By adjusting your hearing instrument while it is in your ear we can adjust it to a specific target area in real time. That target could be the voice of a loved one, or even a co-worker.
"The reason that this [live speech mapping] works, and the only way you can accurately asset how the hearing aid is processing speech, we use speech as the stimulus, not some artificially derived noise or signal".
The neat thing is, you can see what Speech Sounds are audible to the hearing impaired and what sounds are inaudible, so when you began to fit the hearing aid, you know exactly where you need amplification.
MULTI-LINE DISTRIBUTOR
In choosing a local Hearing Professional AARP suggest finding a multi-line dispenser, Board Certified in Hearing Instrument Sciences, willing to place their instruments out on trial, has years of experience and a good reputation in the local Area.
